Heater is smoking and doesn't start after several attempts

This is usually a fuel-related issue. To diagnose, follow these steps:

  1. Check the fuel output from the heater according to the repair manual.

  2. If the fuel amount is low, inspect the standpipe, fuel lines, and connections.

  3. Check the fuel filter and fuel pump — replace them if needed.

  4. Inspect the glow pin and replace the glow pin screen if necessary.
