Heater is overheating

Overheating is usually caused by poor ventilation or debris on the overheating sensor.

Here’s how to troubleshoot:

  1. Check the installation location.
If the heater is installed under a van’s passenger seat, there’s likely an access hatch. If poor ventilation is the issue, try opening the hatch and clearing the overheating error code on the controller.

  2. Test without ducting.
If the problem persists, remove the outlet hood and ducting and test the heater again.

  3. Inspect and clean the sensor.

    • Remove the top cover to access the sensor, which is held in a metal clip on the heat exchanger.

    • Start by simply blowing on the sensor to remove debris. Using compressed air is even better.

    • If cleaning doesn’t fix the problem, the sensor will need to be replaced.

Note: If you’re unsure where the sensor is located, it’s best to contact our technical support team before attempting removal.
